Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000
Hunter Recruiting is seeking a dedicated full-time Litigation Legal Assistant to join our Chicago office. This position is part of a smaller, team-oriented environment within a larger law firm framework, emphasizing collaboration and mutual support to enhance workload balance. Candidates should have strong communication and teamwork abilities. The role initially requires in-office presence but will offer hybrid work options post-onboarding.
Key Responsibilities of the Litigation Legal Assistant:
- Drafting, revising, and proofreading a variety of legal documents and correspondence.
- Managing calendars, coordinating travel plans, and handling expense reimbursements.
- Assisting with trial preparation and supporting various aspects of litigation processes.
- Performing time entry, transcribing dictated notes, and maintaining organized files.
Qualifications for the Litigation Legal Assistant:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm setting focused on litigation.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, alongside capabilities to develop tables of authorities and contents, and apply formatting styles for efficient document preparation.
- Familiarity with billing practices, electronic filing procedures in both state and federal courts, docket management, and trial involvement.
- Proven track record in producing, reviewing, and formatting legal documents.
- Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading abilities.
