Sterile Processing Technician
Columbus, Ohio
10:00am – 6:30pm – PRN
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be essential in ensuring a safe and sterile atmosphere for surgical operations. Your meticulous approach, familiarity with medical terminology, and expertise in sterile processing methods will enhance our healthcare team’s effectiveness. Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician:
- Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and package surgical instrument trays and sets accurately.
- Utilize proper aseptic techniques to eliminate the risk of infection.
- Maintain precise documentation of sterilization procedures and equipment upkeep.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure the availability of sterile supplies for surgeries.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
Qualifications for the Sterile Processing Technician:
- Strong command of medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Thorough comprehension of sterile processing techniques and best practices.
- Understanding of physiology to appreciate the function and purpose of surgical instruments.
- Ability to effectively and safely operate sterilization machinery.
