Medical Assistant 2
Orlando, FL
8 am – 5 pm (M-F)
$20/HR
The role of the Medical Assistant 2 is to act as the main point of contact for patients at an outpatient facility located in Orlando, FL. This position entails supporting both clinical and administrative aspects in a dynamic environment, providing patient care within the scope of certification while ensuring precise documentation and operational effectiveness. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required, along with a strong ability to collaborate with both physicians and nursing staff. This is an onsite position offering Monday to Friday hours, with the possibility of extension or transitioning to full-time (not guaranteed).
Key Responsibilities of Medical Assistant 2
- Act as the initial point of contact for patients
- Carry out clinical back-office tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, conducting diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, and performing phlebotomy
- Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Prepare, sanitize, and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
- Work closely with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate patient care
- Perform moderately complex administrative and operational duties
- Manage tasks effectively while adhering to quality and compliance requirements
- Exercise sound judgment and work with minimal supervision following departmental guidelines
Qualifications for Medical Assistant 2
- 1–3 years of back-office Medical Assistant experience in direct patient care
- Valid State Medical Assistant certification (RMA or CMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset
- Must complete TB screening (due to patient interaction)
Preferred Qualifications for Medical Assistant 2
- High School Diploma
- Practical phlebotomy experience
- Familiarity with EMR systems and HEDIS
- Active certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, ARMA, or NAHP
- AART Rad Tech license
