Radiation Therapist
Albany, GA
Competitive Salary and Benefits Radiation Therapist delivers therapeutic radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist. Provides quality technical care to patients as part of the radiation therapy team and participates in screening patient needs, student education, and quality improvement.
Radiation Therapist Responsibilities
- Delivers therapeutic radiation
- Completes simulation rotations with minimal errors.
- Properly performs applications on the RTAW (Radiation Therapy Application Workstation).
- Constructs custom immobilization devices.
- Fabricates treatment devices.
- Completes treatments with minimal errors.
- Follows guidelines for imaging (iView & XVI).
Completes required documentation
- Completes chart documentation accurately.
- Maintain schedule according to guidelines.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Completes & reviews charges appropriately.
- Reviews and completes student objectives.
Participates in planning and problem solving
- Prioritizes responsibilities.
- Organizes for efficiency.
- Prepares room for procedures.
- Consults others appropriately when question arise.
- Embraces implementation of new technology.
Participates in quality control and process improvement
- Accurately completes monitors, audits, and forms in a timely manner.
- Rotate staff QA representative responsibilities.
- Rotate chart rounds responsibilities.
- Meets regulatory standards for position (JCAHO, ACR, ACoS).
- Adheres to policy, procedures and guidelines set forth by the department and organizationally.
Maintains personal and professional qualifications
- ARRT and ASRT annual renewal (24hrs. of ECE every 2 yrs. required).
- Participates in educational programs offered locally.
Radiation Therapist Qualification
- Graduate of CAHEA approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program or the equivalent.
- Currently registered or registry eligible with the ARRT in Radiation Therapy Technology
- Current healthcare provider CPR required
- Knowledge of geriatric patient care
- Interpersonal relations include other employees, physicians, patients and families, and other health care professionals.
- Ability to organize and react in a high stress environment
