Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the company’s Accounting Department, overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and analyzing financial data to aid in strategic planning. Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with the CFO on human resource-related matters as necessary.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Handle general bookkeeping, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, alongside other accounting responsibilities.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Analyze financial and job-cost information to detect trends or discrepancies and resolve any variances.
- Engage in risk management initiatives concerning insurance and bonding for the organization.
- Offer guidance and training to team members as needed.
- Identify potential areas for process enhancement and increased efficiency.
- Support the CFO with the administration of benefits programs and weekly payroll processing.
- Undertake various other tasks and projects as they arise.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting; experience in the construction industry and/or public accounting is advantageous.
- Possession of an active CPA and/or CCIFP designation is a plus.
- Demonstrated capability to effectively engage, supervise, and develop staff.
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with corporate taxation, including federal and state income, sales/use, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with auditing practices and methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with experience in Foundation and CMiC being ideal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and the ability to identify inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
- High level of commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
