Cleveland, OH – Hybrid
$90,000-$110,000

Overview:
As a Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the firm’s leadership by delivering insightful financial analyses, effective budgeting, forecasting, and reporting that enhance decision-making processes across the organization. This position involves collaborating closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and the Director of Finance to transform financial data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting updates, which encompass workforce planning along with revenue and expense estimations.
  • Participate in the analysis of attorney compensation through evaluating performance metrics, identifying trends, and conducting benchmarking activities.
  • Examine profitability across matters, clients, practice areas, and individual attorneys (including metrics such as realization, utilization, leverage, and rate performance).
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards that highlight critical performance indicators.
  • Provide on-demand analysis and reports to fulfill requests from management and leadership.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clarity in all delivered reports.
  • Employ analytical skills to detect trends, risks, and opportunities within financial and operational datasets.
  • Coordinate with operational and legal teams to discern business needs and tailor analyses to meet those needs.
  • Propose improvements to reporting mechanisms, workflows, and data utilization in order to boost insight and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize financial and practice management systems for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Assist in the integration of financial systems with timekeeping, billing platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Document reporting logic, assumptions, and methods to enhance scalability and consistency.
  • Perform additional finance-related tasks and support special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a professional services or law firm setting.
  • Proficient in Excel; familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, a proactive approach in questioning, and the ability to clearly present insights and recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with a solid sense of ownership and accountability.
