**Front Desk Coordinator**
Saint Paul, MN
**$20.50/HR**
The **Front Desk Coordinator** is the initial point of contact for patients in a high-traffic outpatient Lung and Sleep clinic. This position emphasizes outstanding customer service while handling patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and various administrative tasks. The ideal applicant should possess experience working at a healthcare front desk, familiarity with Epic EMR, and the capability to excel in a dynamic clinical environment while ensuring professionalism and accuracy.
**Responsibilities of the Front Desk Coordinator:**
– Welcome and assist patients both in person and over the phone.
– Execute patient registration, check-in, and checkout processes.
– Gather and confirm demographic, insurance, and financial information.
– Secure necessary patient documentation and signatures.
– Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
– Aid in patient communications, manage telephone encounters, and follow up on appointments.
– Collect co-pays and outstanding account balances.
– Handle Epic EMR tasks, including In-Basket and MyChart duties.
– Generate No Show letters, scheduling reports, and other patient correspondence.
– Retrieve, scan, organize, and distribute medical records and related clinic documentation.
– Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and Release of Information requests.
– Answer and forward incoming calls while fulfilling clinic communication requirements.
– Ensure patient-facing areas are kept clean and organized, and restock supplies in the clinic.
– Conduct End-of-Day reconciliation tasks and weekly downtime assessments.
– Contribute to clinic operations and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
**Qualifications for the Front Desk Coordinator:**
– High School Diploma or GED is a must.
– At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare front desk setting is required.
– Proficiency with Epic EMR is essential.
– Prior experience with patient registration, appointment booking, and insurance checks is necessary.
– Familiarity with MyChart and Epic In-Basket is preferred.
– Excellent customer service and communication abilities are needed.
– Capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
– Must have reliable transportation and be flexible to provide occasional coverage at a secondary clinic.
– Demonstrated strong attendance, reliability, and collaborative skills.
