West Palm Beach, FL
8 am – 5 pm (M-F)
$20/HR
The position of **Medical Assistant 2** acts as the main contact point for patients in an outpatient healthcare facility located in West Palm Beach, FL. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a dynamic setting, providing direct patient care aligned with certification guidelines while ensuring precise documentation and operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate should be bilingual in English and Spanish and must demonstrate strong teamwork with physicians and nursing personnel. This is an onsite role operating Monday through Friday, with the possibility of an extension or full-time employment (not assured).
Responsibilities of Medical Assistant 2
- Act as the initial contact for patients
- Carry out back-office clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, conducting diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, and performing phlebotomy
- Accurately record patient data in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Prepare, disinfect, and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms
- Work in close coordination with physicians and nursing staff to enhance patient care
- Handle moderately complex administrative and operational responsibilities
- Manage tasks effectively while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Adhere to department policies exercising good judgment with limited supervision
Requirements for Medical Assistant 2
- 1–3 years of experience as a back-office Medical Assistant in direct patient care
- Active certification as a Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook
- Exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative attitude
- Must undergo TB screening for patient-facing duties
Preferred Qualifications for Medical Assistant 2
- High School Diploma
- Hands-on experience in phlebotomy
- Familiarity with EMR systems and HEDIS
- Active certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, ARMA, or NAHP
- AART Rad Tech license
