Medical Assistant 2
Winter Garden, FL
8 am – 5 pm (M-F)
$20/HR
The Medical Assistant 2 functions as the primary point of contact for patients at an outpatient care clinic located in Winter Garden, FL. This position encompasses both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a dynamic environment, providing direct patient services within the certification boundaries while ensuring precise documentation and operational effectiveness. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and exhibit strong teamwork with physicians and nursing personnel. This role is scheduled for Monday through Friday onsite and may offer possibilities for extension or full-time transition (though this is not guaranteed).
Responsibilities of Medical Assistant 2
- Act as the initial point of contact for patients
- Carry out back-office clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, and conducting phlebotomy
- Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Prepare and maintain cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and examination rooms
- Work closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Execute moderately complex administrative and operational responsibilities
- Manage priorities effectively while upholding quality and compliance standards
- Adhere to departmental policies utilizing sound judgment and minimal oversight
Requirements for Medical Assistant 2
- 1–3 years of experience as a back-office Medical Assistant providing direct patient care
- Active State Medical Assistant certification (RMA or CMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience in a fast-paced and high-volume healthcare environment
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Outlook
- Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented approach
- Completion of TB screening is required (patient-facing position)
Preferred Qualifications for Medical Assistant 2
- High School Diploma
- Practical experience in phlebotomy
- Familiarity with EMR systems and HEDIS
- Active certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, ARMA, or NAHP
- AART Rad Tech license
