Mobile Collections Specialist

The role of the Mobile Collections Specialist involves conducting in-home specimen collections from individuals undergoing drug screenings as part of their engagement with the Indiana Department of Child Services.
Key Responsibilities of the Mobile Collections Specialist:
- Travel to participants’ residences, workplaces, or local DCS offices to collect urine, oral, and/or hair samples.
- Document, organize, and prepare samples for laboratory delivery.
- Manage requisitions, chain of custody documentation, and other relevant paperwork.
- Transport specimens to designated drop-off locations or laboratories.
- Maintain comprehensive records of interactions with clients and patients.
- Visit third-party collection sites for inspections as required.
- Support the Program Manager and Regional Lead in ensuring compliance of third-party collection sites with Cordant’s standards for the Indiana Department of Child Safety program.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Mobile Collections Specialist:
- High School diploma or GED is necessary.
- Minimum of one year of experience in customer or patient-facing roles is essential.
- Experience in healthcare, criminal justice, or similar fields is advantageous.
- Capability to conduct observed collections and gather biological samples is required.
- Willingness to travel within the region for emergency, after-hours collections on short notice (within one hour) is mandatory, including potential overnight and weekend assignments.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License, dependable transportation, and proof of auto insurance with the candidate listed as an insured driver is required.
- Ownership of a Smartphone with enabled location-tracking is necessary.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to independently set up applications are required.
- Exceptional attention to detail along with strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
- Capability to perform well under pressure while effectively managing communications in potentially high-stress or dynamic situations is essential.
- Light to moderate physical exertion (lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.) and maintaining prolonged sitting or standing are required.
- Ability to wear scrubs and necessary protective equipment (such as gloves) is a requirement.
