Test Engineer
Location: Twinsburg, Ohio

Overview of the Test Engineer Role:
The Test Engineer II plays a crucial role in defining testing protocols and organizing testing operations for New Product Introductions (NPI), qualification processes, and Safety of Flight initiatives. This position focuses on the assessment of aerospace electronic control units, rotating machinery, and board-level subassemblies, which includes designing and creating the required testing setups and fixtures.
The ideal candidate should have a background in aerospace or electromechanical testing environments, along with strong skills in analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities of the Test Engineer:
- Coordinate and conduct prototype and qualification tests throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Test aerospace electronic control units, rotating machines, and subassemblies on a board level.
- Create and uphold testing standards, fixtures, and data acquisition systems.
- Examine test data and assess it against product specifications and requirements.
- Identify and resolve product or testing issues and suggest corrective measures.
- Support environmental, developmental, and qualification testing efforts.
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot testing apparatus, instrumentation, and control circuits.
- Facilitate automated testing and data collection by programming the testing computers.
- Collaborate with design engineers to devise effective testing techniques and ensure compliance with product performance criteria.
- Draft comprehensive technical reports, procedures, and documentation related to tests.
- Assist with alterations to facilities and infrastructure for new test equipment installations.
- Comply with safety regulations and participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Occasional travel within and outside the U.S. may be required.
Qualifications for the Test Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least four (4) years of relevant experience.
OR
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, particularly in technical documentation.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and various reporting tools.
- Capability to thrive in a practical engineering and testing setting.
- U.S. Person status is necessary due to export control regulations.
- Preferred: Experience in aerospace power generation development and testing.
- Preferred: Familiarity with hydraulic and oil-cooled systems.
- Preferred: Knowledge of aerospace qualification and environmental testing standards.
