Vice President of Sales
Cleveland, OH
Base Salary: $190,000 + Bonus

The Vice President of Sales will spearhead the implementation of the company’s national sales strategy targeting crucial industrial markets, particularly focusing on steel mills, heavy manufacturing, OEMs, and power transmission sectors. This senior leadership position necessitates extensive technical knowledge in Open Gearing, Standard Enclosed Drives, Custom Enclosed Drives, and Gearbox Refurbishment, along with a track record of driving revenue growth, building high-performing sales teams, and enhancing strategic customer relationships across the nation. The VP of Sales will collaborate with the executive team to propel growth initiatives, enhance market visibility, and ensure commercial strategies are aligned with the overarching business goals.

Responsibilities of the VP of Sales:

  • Demonstrate a strong technical grasp of gears, power transmission systems, and their industrial uses, effectively conveying product advantages and application-specific solutions to customer engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams.
  • Formulate and implement the company’s comprehensive sales strategy aimed at revenue enhancement, market growth, and customer loyalty in the industrial and power transmission markets.
  • Lead, coach, and cultivate a top-performing sales team while defining performance metrics and standards for accountability.
  • Establish and nurture executive relationships with key OEMs, distributors, steel producers, and major industrial clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities, potential strategic partnerships, and emerging market trends to broaden the company’s market presence.
  • Oversee sales forecasts, budget management, and performance analytics to facilitate strategic planning.
  • Supply market insights, competitive assessments, and strategic advice to executive leadership.
  • Engage in extensive travel throughout the U.S. to support clients, identify business opportunities, and drive regional sales efforts (around 50% travel expected).

Qualifications for the VP of Sales:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical field is a must.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in gears, power transmission products, or related industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in sales management, with a proven record of guiding high-achieving teams.
  • Strong technical understanding of Open Gearing, Enclosed Drives, Gearbox Refurbishment, and analogous engineered solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to OEMs, distributors, and steel manufacturing entities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally up to 50% of the time.
  • Candidates must reside in or be open to relocating to Cleveland, OH; relocation support will be provided.
