Audio Visual Technician
Akron, OH
$23 – $25/ HR

The Audio Visual Technician is essential in aiding the organization with its collaboration systems and technology. This role entails maintaining the functionality of collaboration tools, such as MS Teams Video Rooms, and ensuring that all related systems operate seamlessly. Responsibilities also include overseeing corporate conference rooms and collaborative spaces, providing assistance to employees both on-site and remotely. The technician will guarantee that all necessary hardware, software, and applications for productive meetings and collaboration are readily available and in working order.

Responsibilities for the Audio Visual Technician:

  • Assess IT AV collaboration workflows, analyze outcomes, suggest innovative technologies, and advocate for best practices.
  • Work together with external AV and collaboration service providers on ongoing and new projects.
  • Assist with IT Audio Visual Collaboration inquiries, including conference room configurations, video conferencing setups, and management of technologies such as Cisco and Polycom VoIP phones.
  • Handle requests for conference room setups, ranging from basic technology needs to intricate meeting arrangements involving AV equipment and collaboration software.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and fulfill their AV and collaboration requirements.
  • Perform routine checks on conference rooms and MS Teams Video Rooms.
  • Offer on-site meeting support for users seeking assistance.
  • Track and address Remedy Force tickets and tasks related to AV and collaboration assistance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for resolving Conference Room AV Collaboration issues and troubleshooting related hardware and software complications.
  • Keep IT AV Collaboration training materials and guidelines current in conference rooms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on collaboration platforms, including MS Teams, providing training and support as necessary.
  • Support Technical Integration Analysts with IT inventory management, new hire PC configurations, and software deployments.
  • Provide additional support for the IT help desk team when required.

Qualifications for the Audio Visual Technician:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in these areas:
    • Corporate Help Desk assistance
    • Technical support for conference rooms
    • AV and video conferencing assistance, specifically with MS Teams Video
  • Prior experience with MS Teams/MS Live Events and Zoom collaboration tools is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in supporting MS Office 365 and/or Google Workspace (including Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Drive) is mandatory.
