Lab Technician
Location: Wickliffe, OH
Compensation: $23-25/HR
Key Responsibilities for Lab Technician:
- Adhere to comprehensive guidelines to ensure safe laboratory practices, effective waste management, and quality control testing.
- Engage in hazard identification during regular job tasks, focusing on enhancing safety standards, cleanliness, and operational efficiency within the lab environment.
- Confirm that all testing protocols align with established procedures.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, chemists, supervisors, and business partners, providing updates as necessary; collaborate with business partners on specific requirements, and address concerns with the appropriate area chemist when needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, working collaboratively with team members, chemists, and business partners to resolve challenges.
- Assess the integrity of test data; ensure accuracy before data entry; alert management to any discrepancies and assist in determining the root causes of inconsistent results.
- Input and manage test data using Excel and other internal software systems.
- Coordinate the movement of samples within the lab and between departments.
- Identify and resolve conflicts in testing priorities; communicate testing schedules clearly to stakeholders.
- Exhibit strong time management skills and exceptional organizational abilities.
Qualifications for Lab Technician:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, preferably in Chemistry.
- A minimum of two years of laboratory experience in an industry setting.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation is advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office; familiarity with various internal mainframe systems such as Scheduler/Inventory, Measurements, and Information Warehouse is required.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently after training, while also being an effective team player.
- Must possess good visual acuity and not be color blind.
