Job Title: Quality Control Analyst – Chemistry
Location: Myerstown, PA
Pay Rate: $25–30/hour

Position Overview
The Quality Control Analyst – Chemistry is responsible for conducting analytical assessments of in-process materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products to ensure product quality and adherence to regulatory standards. This individual supports quality assurance objectives by performing laboratory analyses, meticulously documenting outcomes, resolving issues, and working collaboratively with manufacturing and quality teams in a dynamic pharmaceutical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of in-process products, active drug substances, and completed pharmaceutical items following approved protocols and compendial guidelines.
  • Utilize standard bench chemistry methods and analytical tools such as HPLC, spectrophotometers, viscometers, and similar devices to execute laboratory tasks.
  • Carry out routine assessments of in-process, bulk, finished, and stability samples to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Keep thorough and precise laboratory documentation, data sheets, and records for permanent filing and regulatory compliance purposes.
  • Interpret test results, identify discrepancies, deviations, or unexpected outcomes; escalate issues and suggest further testing if necessary.
  • Assist in troubleshooting analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation challenges.
  • Support investigations into non-compliance, deviations, and quality-related incidents.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO, corporate safety guidelines, and quality policies.
  • Work in collaboration with laboratory, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to uphold product quality and production schedules.
  • Engage in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field is required.
  • A minimum of one year of laboratory experience beyond academic coursework is essential.
  • A solid understanding of analytical chemistry concepts and laboratory methodologies is necessary.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods, data processing, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is expected.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capability to convey findings clearly.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Self-driven with a strong eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in using laboratory instruments and computer systems.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to established protocols are essential.
