Key Account Manager
Location: Twinsburg, OH
Salary: $90,000-$120,000
Position Overview:
The Key Account Manager plays a crucial role in developing and nurturing commercial relationships with a select group of key aerospace clients across various product lines. This position emphasizes the establishment of enduring customer partnerships, the exploration and acquisition of new business prospects, and the enhancement of revenue growth in both traditional aerospace sectors and burgeoning aviation markets. The Key Account Manager will craft and implement sales and marketing initiatives designed to meet immediate and long-term business goals while working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction, adherence to contracts, and effective execution of business strategies. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, experience in managing intricate aerospace system sales, and a solid background in business development and contract negotiations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance relationships with designated key accounts.
- Create and implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives to capture new business and broaden market presence.
- Advise on product positioning and pricing strategies that foster long-term profitability and market expansion.
- Collect customer insights and relay future market requirements to aid in product development and technology planning.
- Track industry trends, competitor activity, and market changes to spot opportunities and potential challenges.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry gatherings to enhance customer relationships and uncover new business avenues.
- Act as the key commercial liaison for assigned customers.
- Oversee the contractual and commercial aspects throughout the customer relationship lifecycle.
- Ensure business performance is in alignment with financial targets, such as sales volume, pricing, funding requirements, and accounts receivable expectations.
- Coordinate sales administration functions to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment between booking and sales strategies.
- Guarantee adherence to negotiated agreements, terms, and conditions with customers.
- Lead quoting and proposal efforts for technical modifications, including requirements assessment, cost analysis, business case formulation, and negotiation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including program management, finance, legal, and engineering teams, to facilitate contract negotiations and business operations.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with clients and strategic partners.
- Promote a safety-first culture and contribute to ongoing improvements in health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant trade and export regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as needed, up to 50%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least five years of experience in aerospace sales, business development, or account management.
- Proven success in developing sales strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing financial aspects of business.
- Preferred experience with complex aerospace products or systems.
- Ability to effectively influence stakeholders and negotiate with customers and business partners.
- Self-driven individual with a proactive mindset and a strong focus on achieving results.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by business needs.
