Legal Billing Specialist
Cleveland, OH – Hybrid
$55,000 – $70,000
As a Legal Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in crafting client invoices and ensuring compliance with the firm’s policies, tailored client requirements, and industry norms.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Billing Specialist:
- Prepare invoices that adhere to each client’s specific needs, including formats, codes, narratives, and timelines for submission.
- Create draft invoices for attorneys to review, implement any necessary changes, and finalize invoices in accordance with client instructions.
- Evaluate and confirm the accuracy of invoices and accompanying documentation, ensuring compliance with billing standards and guidelines.
- Investigate and address billing questions from attorneys and clients while resolving discrepancies and documenting the outcomes.
- Support the submission of electronic invoices via E-Billing Hub (EBH) software.
- Keep precise billing records and supporting documents within the firm’s billing system.
- Contribute to projects and additional accounting-related tasks as necessary.
Requirements for the Legal Billing Specialist:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; some college education is a plus.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, notably Word and Excel, alongside data entry capabilities.
- Familiarity with Elite Enterprise, 3E, or CMS accounting software and e-billing is advantageous, but not essential.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and oral.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills.
