Overview of the Senior CyberArk IAM Engineer Role
We are in search of a skilled Senior CyberArk IAM Engineer responsible for spearheading the implementation, management, and enhancement of CyberArk Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions within our enterprise settings. This position will focus on ensuring secure identity management, enforcing privileged access controls, supporting compliance efforts, and facilitating cloud integrations while acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on IAM and CyberArk technologies.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior CyberArk IAM Engineer
- Architect, implement, and administer CyberArk PAM solutions, including Enterprise Password Vault (EPV), Privileged Session Manager (PSM), CyberArk Vault (CPM), and Privileged Web Access (PVWA).
- Oversee and enhance IAM systems such as Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
- Formulate and enforce policies, workflows, and governance for PAM and IAM.
- Integrate CyberArk with organizational infrastructure and cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
- Automate routine administrative functions using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Deliver Level 3 support and troubleshoot issues related to CyberArk and IAM systems.
- Assist with audits, compliance efforts, and security evaluations.
- Work collaboratively with IT, security, and compliance teams to enhance identity security approaches.
Qualifications for the Senior CyberArk IAM Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in IT, specializing in IAM and security initiatives.
- A minimum of 5 years in hands-on CyberArk PAM administration and execution.
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, SSO, MFA, and privileged access management frameworks.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation with PowerShell, Python, or Java.
- Familiar with compliance standards such as NIST, SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, or CMMC.
- Possession of certifications like CyberArk Defender/Sentry, CISSP, Microsoft, Azure, or AWS is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and leadership skills in projects.
