Job description
**Lab Technician**
Woodland, CA
$18-20/hr
2-Month Contract
The **Lab Technician** will be responsible for various tasks including sample preparation, processing of whole vegetables, entering data into LIMS systems, and maintaining general lab cleanliness and organization (which includes washing dishes, managing chemical and consumable inventories, and labeling).
**Lab Technician Responsibilities:**
– Prepare samples for analysis.
– Process whole vegetables for testing.
– Input data accurately into LIMS systems.
– Maintain the laboratory environment (including cleaning, inventory control for chemicals and consumables, and proper labeling).
– Gather quantitative data regarding the characteristics of fruits and vegetables.
– Operate analytical equipment, perform pipetting, prepare solvents, and manage waste disposal.
**Lab Technician Requirements:**
– A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, particularly in fields such as agriculture, biology, or food science.
– Prior laboratory experience is advantageous.
– Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
