Prototype Material Tester
Location: Granville, OH
Compensation: $24/HR
The role of the Prototype Material Tester involves supporting the Technical Insulation R&D Technology Development Project by engaging in the preparation and evaluation of raw materials alongside experimental prototype materials. This position will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining safe work protocols for existing and newly established laboratory equipment, in addition to providing operational assistance for prototype machinery.
Key Responsibilities of the Prototype Material Tester:
- Engage in monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and corporate guidelines.
- Recognize safety risks in the workplace and implement effective resolutions.
- Assist in drafting safety documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) within designated workspaces.
- Contribute to lab organization and the daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area.
- Prepare samples for laboratory testing and application evaluations.
- Conduct laboratory and application tests utilizing acquired knowledge of test methodologies to accurately assess products.
- Record and communicate testing outcomes to the project team.
- Operate prototype equipment to facilitate development trials.
- Collaborate with project engineers and leaders to meet the developmental requirements for prototype or testing apparatus.
Qualifications for the Prototype Material Tester:
- Associate’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
- Experience in a laboratory setting with the ability to confidently operate lab instruments.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with fundamental statistical principles.
