Shipping & Receiving Specialist (2nd Shift)
Location: Avon, OH
Pay: $20-22/hr
Overview:
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist will play a vital role within the production team, focusing on various product-related tasks. This includes managing raw materials, identifying parts, handling shipping and receiving responsibilities, overseeing stockroom operations, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize appropriate identification techniques and tools to recognize components as per travelers and blueprints.
- Accurately measure and mark parts for labeling based on required specifications.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring safe handling and completing all necessary shipping documentation.
- Package materials conforming to specifications and generate required labels, forms, and records via computer systems.
- Review and adhere to shipping instructions from company guidelines, customer demands, and relevant regulatory standards for packaging.
- Create stencils and clearly label shipments for precise identification and delivery.
- Complete necessary documentation such as air bills, bills of lading, and sales orders for both carriers and internal records.
- Collaborate with carriers to arrange shipments, verify freight costs, and monitor shipment status.
- Receive incoming materials and validate parts based on type and identification criteria.
- Organize and prepare inventory for storage, ensuring materials are placed in designated locations.
- Retrieve and distribute inventory items in line with order requirements.
- Conduct cycle counts to assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Utilize software systems to manage, update, and access inventory and shipping records.
- Operate advanced functions within the Automated Storage and Retrieval System, including managing requisitions and addressing shortages as needed.
- Prioritize workload and perform regular maintenance on equipment as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, efficient working space.
- Perform any additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a shipping and receiving or similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic proficiency in math.
- Capability to understand and interpret specifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Forklift certification.
- OSHA certification.
