Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a proactive and seasoned Human Resources Manager to join our Cleveland, OH team. This pivotal role will not only lead HR functions in our Cleveland office but will also extend support to HR teams across various locations in Ohio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete recruitment cycle for staff-level roles, from candidate sourcing to interviews and decision-making processes.
- Conduct new employee orientation sessions and ensure an effective onboarding experience for new hires.
- Manage local employee benefits programs, including communication facilitation and the distribution of enrollment information.
- Provide leadership and support to non-attorney staff directly or through supervisory channels.
- Plan and coordinate workload among secretarial and paralegal teams, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks while promoting teamwork.
- Lead the annual performance and compensation review process for support staff, including making salary and bonus recommendations consistent with budgetary constraints.
- Participate in the performance evaluation process for associates and conduct stay interviews to enhance employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Act as a point of contact for employee relations, offering support, resolving issues, and collaborating with management on pertinent matters.
- Manage leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance, thorough documentation, and effective communication throughout each case.
- Guide the employee separation process, including the preparation of exit documentation and conducting exit interviews.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with attorneys and staff to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity within the office.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws, such as ADA, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, and FLSA.
- Investigate workplace incidents, document injuries, and oversee Worker’s Compensation claims management.
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities and office events, such as staff appreciation events and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience are required.
- Demonstrated HR expertise in areas such as employee relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, and training development.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including ADA and FMLA.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as required, including occasional nights and weekends, with travel anticipated to be around 20% or less.
